Fresh

Earlier this semester, I posted about West Coast style and how it was always so crisp and clean. While setting out to create a few daily Polyvore pages, I came across these posts and it brought back my inner Cali again...

This fresh look can be worn all year long. With the Camel trend that I posted about earlier, with a link to College Prep, this trend can be used and transitioned from summer to fall, and even into winter. Look polished, look classy and you just can't go wrong! When you look good you feel good.

What are you year-long looks? Use Polyvore to create new looks!

The Man Repeller

Happy Tuesday!

Check out this great blog post, 'When Fashion Gives Back'. The Man Repeller is a hilarious yet stylish blogger who explains some real types of style that most people are too afraid to embrace. I got to hear The Man Repeller speak when I attended the Independent Fashion Blogger's Conference at NYC Fashion Week in September. This is a great post about how to let your style give back more than the usual eye pleasings!

Love the you you Love.

Romance. Not everyone can have it when ever they want... can they? Many of us don't experience romance the way I do. I make my own romance, I do not depend on others to show it to me or to lead me to it. It is healthy to be in love, but even healither to be in love with yourself. Find ways to include romance in your everday life, just to show yourself that you are appreciated.

Flowers can be one of the most Romantic gestures, you will find that even just adding faux flowers to any room can brighten and bring happiness to you life.

Use Romantic decor in your everyday life. In your room, throughout your house, and especially in the clothes you wear. Delicacy is beautiful, and you should always show your true beauty.

Once you love the you you love, if you're lucky enough...you can experience a whole other kind of romance.

Is it Love or is it London?

Great Style, I think I'll move to London! Okay, I'll start by just taking a really great visit! I am endlessly getting inspired by all of the London fashions I am about to experience..

Is it Love or is it London?

Its amazing how all the way across the world the idea of 'classy' is still important. It seems that every piece from the UK is bursting with the updated traditional look, and I can't get enough of it! Why can't people in the US dress this good 247? Maybe you and I will be the people that have to start this revolution :)

Trench

Now that we're finally experienceing more of the athentic fall weather in DC, its time to break out the transitional pieces in your wardrobe, my favorite being the Trench
As I posted earlier, I recently got accepted to study in London this winter, and I've decided I need to start getting things ready now! A trench is a staple for all kinds of weather, check out this great one that is water resistant, Michael Kors, and now on-sale at Nordstrom!

(They're both the same coat! Normally $128 now $79 at Nordy's)

If you want to amp-up the traditional look, there are plenty of embellishments
and details you can choose from or even add yourself

Burberry did it, and so can you!

The shorter Trenches are an update to the traditonal.. and they help lengthen your legs!

::Keep in Mind::
When the cold months are over (I know, they're just getting started).. don't feel like you need to throw your trench in the back of your closet, the Sleveless Trench is hot every spring and it gives your one more reason to love your trench.

Keep in mind "Honestly WTF"'s DIY from April:

Where did you get your trench this season?
Do you have any tips to amp-up your trench?

MUSTARD

So, I don't know about you...but I obsess over color. Right now I can't stop won't stop with Mustard Yellow. I'm not sure if this is considered normal, but when I have an epiphany of new color, I just get a  give-it-to-me-feed-it-to-me-make-every-article-of-clothing-I-own-this color obsession.

Also I am obsessing over this new (almost social networking but more like tumblr or polyvore) website www.PINTREST.com . They call it an "online pin board" where you can just drag pictures and share you style with everyone on the web. Very cool because I love new ideas and to share ideas!

There is a waiting list for Pintrest, and I have yet to get to the top of it. In the meantime, here is some mustard yellow that I would definitely put on my pin board:

LOVE this preppy j.crew look (Isn't Mustard classy?)

Me and my colored jeans...so style!

(I had to..I am forever a Pittsburgh fan)

This is actually stolen from a Pintrest site, and
another Blogger user. But it's just so good I have to share.
Kudos:

Do you have a Color obsession right now?

Fall Festivals

Over this beautiful holiday weekend, I had the pleasure of attending one of DC's famous festivals, 'Taste of DC'. When I was preparing for this event I was having trouble figuring out what to wear! I got to thinking that there will probably (hopefully) be many more various fall festivals throughout the season and a plan should be made. Here are some great tips on what to wear to festivals and events this fall...

Classic Pagmina scarf - Bring spice to yours by adding your Monogram at Marley Lilly

Plaid Anything - Fall is perfect for plaid, and the colder days you can go all-out flannel!

Don't forget your hat! Autumn is the season for hats, they look great on everyone...and they help out if you're not having a great hair day ;)

What do you wear to your Fall events?

LONDON

One of the largest fashion houses in the world..One of the top Public Relations outlets in Europe..and I just got accepted into a program of special study starting in January! I cannot wait to explore the British fashions and experience the new UK culture.

I hope this trip can give me a push into the real fashion world and let me see how things are done outside of the states. London is a staple in American advertising and American style, now I get to see where we are sneaking our ideas from! Over the next few months I will be nothing less than obsessing over what is to come in 2012.

Have you ever experienced fashion abroad?

Don't worry... I also plan to visit a plethora of other countries throughout Europe! Definitely Paris to please my inner Carrie Bradshaw...Maybe Spain to practice my Spanish that I studied so hard over the years...But where ever I go, Germany will be at the top of my list. When I was a child I had the blessing of living abroad with my family for a few years in Munich, Germany. I don't remember much, but maybe it explains my love of travel and European fashion?

I wish I could say I had a relation to one of the major German designers (Diane von Furstenberg, Karl Lagerfeld, or Hugo Boss) but for now I'm just LC.

Do you have any suggestions about studying abroad?

KMS California

While at fashion week, one night I had the oppurtunity to attend an amazing after party put on by KMS California! KMS California makes great hair products for all different types of hair! I even got to try out their product given out in their great goodie bags (thanks KMS!). At the after party, they really engaged the guests by having a live hair styling show.

The company is based in California but they want to bring their unique style over to the East Coast!

Definitely check out their products based on your type of hair. Mine sometimes just wont do anything but lay flat, so I tried the "AddVolume" line, and it did amazing things! These were my favorite products that you must try:

This product gave me at least 70% more volume from my roots to the tips of my thin hair!

The actualy Volumizing spray was great too because it didn't make my hair greasy!

KMS had the great idea of giving each guest a personality test and then they printed out photos for us right on the spot! If we wanted to have our hair done we could do a before-and-after shoot too! This is from my test:

Of course they had a great campaign to go with the open bar and goodie bags..

Real lives. Real people. Your stlye.

I love brands that encourage you to embrace your individuality! What do you think about KMS California? Which products are you going to try?
